Blossburg State Coal Festival

Written by: on Monday, May 9th, 2022

The Blossburg State Coal Festival is one of our favorite local events! Even though it has been quite a few years since we have mined the area, the discovery of coal in Blossburg in 1792 was a large reason that Blossburg and the surrounding towns were able to grow. Owing our growth to the valuable resource found while building Williamson Road, we love the opportunity to celebrate that history during the festival.

Having started on Memorial Day weekend in 1993, the event continues to be held that weekend each year. This year, festivities will include: A Prince & Princess Pageant, Coal Festival Trivia, Color Run 5K, Car & Bike Show, Chicken BBQ, Parade, Cornhole Tournament, Little League Tournament, Fireworks, and a variety of vendors throughout the weekend!

Make sure to check the official website for updates and a full schedule of events here!
